Report a private housing issue
You can use this form to report poor or unsafe private rented property and public health concerns.
If you are tenant of a private landlord, you should try to contact your landlord or agent to make them aware of your concerns and maintain a written record of this communication.
We are unable to assist if you are a council tenant and you should report concerns to Westminster Housing on 0800 358 3783 or housing.enquiries@westminster.gov.uk.
Disrepair:
You can report issues relating to housing standards and serious disrepair in privately rented property that pose a risk to you. This can include continuous flowing leaks, drainage defects, damp and mould, faulty electrics, no heating or hot water, fire safety & filthy and verminous premises.
You must inform your landlord (or agent) of the issues before contacting the council. Ensure you have satisfied the following steps before completing this form:
- You have notified your landlord of the disrepair issue in writing (this may protect your from eviction should the council need to take action)
- Your landlord has failed to respond and fix the disrepair issues raised
- You have contact details for your landlord

You can report other private sector housing issues including:
- Unlicensed Houses in Multiple Occupation (3 or more people sharing)
- Empty Homes
- Concerns about energy efficiency / minimum energy efficiency standards
- Hoarding & waste accumulations
- Water leaks and damp
- Pests, including rodents & insects
- Other housing hazards
